Our philosophy at Nourish WA is that all people should have access to professional, personalised and expert nutrition care no matter where you live, so we offer our services via telehealth (phone or video conference), as well as face-to-face appointments for those who wish to visit our offices, based in the southwest of WA.

Appointments Available

Lisa offers face to face appointments at convenient, centrally located offices in Bunbury and Busselton. Face to face appointments are ideal for initial assessments. Alternatively, Lisa offers Telehealth consultations (phone or video) over a secure connection if you can’t make it into one of our offices. Telehealth appointments are convenient for follow up appointments, when touching base with your dietitian for some post-op education, to ask a few questions, when you need a pep-talk to get things back on track or just to check in and make sure you are going OK is what you need with the added convenience of not having to leave the home or workplace! Telehealth appointments also mean that you don’t have to cancel your appointment if you can’t make it into the office due to illness – just email to let us know that you’d like to change your appointment to telehealth, make yourself comfy on the couch and we can do the rest…

Services

Initial assessment

Your initial assessment usually takes an hour. We will discuss things like your medical history, review blood test results, talk about your current diet, provide education and together devise an individualised plan for moving forward.

Follow up appointments

Follow up appointments are usually 30 minutes, and we know that people who attend regular review appointments with the dietitian after bariatric surgery have the best outcomes. These appointments are great opportunity to discuss any issues you’re having, learn how to develop and manage your new healthier diet and lifestyle, assess how you are going, and plan for the next stages of your journey. It is recommended that you have a review appointment every 3 months in the year following your surgery, and every 6 months after that but these appointments can be more frequent if you feel that you need additional support.

Packages

Annual appointment packages are available for those that feel making an upfront payment will help them to stay on track – with the added bonus of a discount off appointment costs! An annual package includes your initial pre-op assessment and five(5) review appointments, all to be used in the first 12 months after surgery. Please ask for more details if you would like to consider this option.

What if I can’t make my appointment?

We send email reminders 48 hours and text message reminders 24 hours before your appointment time so that you can plan ahead and reschedule your appointment if you can’t make it. Alternatively, there is the option to change your appointment to a telehealth appointment if it is no longer convenient to come to our office – just flick us a quick email to request this change. However, if you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 12 hours notice is appreciated so that your appointment time can be allocated to another client on the waitlist. If you don’t attend your appointment without any notice, there will be a cancellation fee of $30 (the deposit that you pay when booking your appointment will be retained by Nourish WA as your cancellation fee). Forms

Client Intake and consent forms will be emailed to you at the time of booking your appointment. These can be completed online and emailed back to us using our convenient Client Portal. Please ensure these forms are filled out and sent back prior to your first appointment. If your details need to be updated at any time, please request a new Client Intake Form be emailed to you so that you can provide your updated details

About Us

Lisa Moore, APD.

Lisa is an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Busselton, Western Australia. Lisa is a member of the Dietitians Australia (DA) and the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS).

Education and experience

Lisa completed her Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) and Graduate Diploma (Dietetics) at Curtin University in 1999. Throughout her career she has worked in a wide range of clinical settings and continues to update her knowledge and skills in each of these areas including primary care, paediatrics, Indigenous nutrition, diabetes and other metabolic conditions, weight management, cardiovascular health and bariatric surgery.

Areas of Interest

Lisa has over 10 years dietetic experience in bariatric surgery and strongly believes that this surgery is not just about weight loss. She has a particular interest in the mechanism of how bariatric surgery influences our gut hormones and can lead to the correction of underlying metabolic conditions such as PCOS, insulin Resistance and Type II Diabetes.

Lisa enjoys helping people to feel healthier and happier through eating a diet that is nutritious, enjoyable, satisfying and suits their lifestyle. There will be no restrictive diet plans that tell you what and when to eat found here. Instead, Lisa will help you to learn to listen to your body and develop a better relationship with food in a supportive and non-judgemental way.
